Recently, as Hasan Minhaj was guest-hosting the Daily Show, he had Kevin O’Leary on as a guest to (very critically) dicuss FTX, crypto and general investiment topics.

I absolutely appreciate this type of television/news/talk show. It’s a breath of fresh air to witness an open, fair, and honest discussion between two individuals with contrasting viewpoints. In today’s world, such civil discourse seems to be increasingly rare, making it all the more valuable and refreshing to watch.

One of the things that struck me the most about this show is that you don’t have to take sides to appreciate the quality of the discussion. It’s not about picking one person over the other, but rather about appreciating the fact that this is how public discourse should be conducted – with respect, integrity, and an openness to different perspectives.

In fact, I find it difficult to come up with many examples of this kind of debate in today’s media landscape. However, strangely enough, all of the examples that come to mind are from the Daily Show. It’s a testament to the show’s commitment to fostering meaningful conversations and providing a platform for diverse voices to be heard.

PS: I would also like to go on the record and say that Hassan Minhaj should really be the next permanent host of the Daily Show. Oh, and if that doesn’t work out, please go with Kal Penn!
